Hi Chris i have just read your book Phoenix Files Arrival i loved it so much i couldn’t stop reading it.
Were do you get the ideas for the Phoenix Files books?
Fraser
Hey Fraser,
Thanks! Glad you liked the book.
Some of my ideas for The Phoenix Files came from my experiences as a school teacher… and a lot of my ideas come from asking myself questions about other ideas.
For example, very early on in my planning for the series, the line There are 100 days until the end of the world popped into my head. I thought this seemed like the start of an interesting story, so I started thinking a bit more about it: Why is it happening? Who’s responsible? Who’s going to stop it? Before I knew it, I had enough ideas to fill six books!
Chris
Hey Chris,
I’m going to the All Saint’s College Festival today and decided I’d check out your site. I have to say, these books look really well written and a lot of fun to read. I’ll have to make sure to find one!
Anyways, hope you’ve enjoyed your time at the literature festival so far =)
hey chris,
what is your next pheonix files book called
i am a huge fan.
Hey Brendon,
Thanks! I had a great time at the literature festival – hope you did too!
Chris
Hey James,
The next Phoenix Files book is called “Mutation” – you can find out a bit more about it here: http://chrismorphew.com/books/
Chris
Hi Chris . Have read the first book which we picked up in Newcastle, Aus and then left it in Yosemite US, for someone else to read. Now we are back in the UK , where can we get the others from?
Great book. Thanks.
Fiona
Hey Fiona,
I hope that one day the answer to that question will be, ‘Go to your local bookstore and find a copy,’ but in the meantime, Aussie book blogger Adele Smith has put together a great list of online bookstores that will ship internationally.
Hope this helps!
Chris
Hi Chris,
I really enjoyed meeting you yesterday at school.
the pheonix files sounds great and i am going to start reading them straight away.
tommorro i am going to fullers book shop.
Hey Amy,
Good to see you at Fullers today! Hope you enjoy the book!
Hey Chris,
I’ve really enjoyed reading The Phoenix Files.
I can’t wait till Mutation.
I was just wondering, when is it being released?
Hey Chala,
Mutation is out NOW in Australia and (I think) New Zealand!
Chris
Hi Chris
Sorry I keep asking you questions, I must be annoying but I was wondering if you were
coming to NZ anytime soon.
Thanks.
Oh,
and do you sell PF on your website.
Sorry but the public library takes forever to get them.
Hey Harry,
Don’t worry, you’re not being annoying at all!
Not sure about a visit to NZ. I’d love to come, though… Maybe next year sometime.
And, no, I don’t sell the books here, but if you can’t get to an actual bookstore, I’m sure most of them would happily sell you a copy through their website!
Chris
Just want to thank you for writing the Phoenix Files books. My son Ethan is not normally interested in reading books but was given your book, Arrival, as a gift. He devoured it in a matter of days! He received Contact for Christmas and has read that and is now on the hunt for the 3rd one. He is really enjoying reading for the first time ever and for that I will be eternally grateful. Please don’t stop writing…….EVER!
Sarah
Thanks, Sarah – so nice to hear that Ethan is enjoying The Phoenix Files! I’ve definitely got no plans to stop writing in the forseeable future!
Woo hoo! Nice to know that Ethan loves reading now, LOL! I could tell that Ethan was addicted to it! When I asked him for a book he immediately said “Phoenix Files!”. I am so glad that he showed me the book! It is totally awesome! You rock Chris!
Hi Chris
I was just wondering if you do school lectures because I would love you to come and talk to my school about The Phoenix Files. And writing. It would be a dream! I am one of your biggest fans and it would be an honour to have you at my school talking about The Phoenix Files. So if your in the area of Belmont, Victoria or even Melbourne please let me know and I’ll talk to my school. I go to Belmont primary with only 260 kids at the school. I am in grade 6.
Thanks,
Imogen, age 11
Hey Imogen,
I’d be happy to come to your school sometime, if they’d like to have me (assuming I can fit it into my schedule, that is). The best thing for them to do would be either to email me (chris@chrismorphew.com) or contact my speakers’ agency (http://www.bookedout.com.au).
Chris
I love your books and would love to get a signed copy for my kids and nephew for Christmas. Do you have any Sydney book signings coming up?
Thanks,
Jane
Hey Jane,
Unfortunately, I haven’t got any signings lined up for the rest of the year – too busy getting Book #5 finished!
Chris
Hay Chris me again
Whats the writers festival and is it every comin to south west rocks if it does I would so go. Cause I really wanna be a author
Bye ttyl
Hey Sophie,
There are a bunch of different writers’ festivals that run all around the country. Usually they involve getting a few different authors in to talk about their books, run workshops, etc. Not sure what your closest one would be, but you might find something if you have a look online.
Chris
Hi Chris,
Have you ever came to New Zealand?, I’ve recently moved from Aussie and never got a chance to meet you, so if you have, will you ever come back
Thanks
Alex
I was in NZ for a couple of weeks last year. Would love to come back sometime, but not sure when it will happen!
hey chris,
i love to read your book and i cant wait till fallout comes out.
sorry, but i was a little disappointed that it isn’t coming out in february…..
is this normal for the book to come late?
i hope you make more cool books like phoenix files in the future
love your book!
thanks
isabelle
Hi Isabelle,
It’s not too unusual for a book to be delayed for one reason or another. I know the wait can be a bit frustration, but we really wanted to make sure that Fallout was absolutely the best book it could be before we sent it off to the printers. Hope it’s worth the wait!
Chris
cool,
thanks
