zacpower

This just in from Zac Power headquarters:

After three years, it is finally time to lift the lid on the secret identity of the Zac Power series’ best-selling author, H.I. Larry.

Zac Power’s world of adventure and espionage has been immensely successful, with around fifty exciting stories published and over a million copies sold in Australia alone. The ‘H.I. Larry’ pseudonym was used to keep the series consistent (and boringly, ensure that all Zac Power books are catalogued and shelved together!), and readers have long been intrigued by Larry’s secret identity.

The voracious reader demand for more Zac stories required a large writing team comprised of several brilliant Australian authors – many of whom have gone on to create their own fiction. Because of the success of the Zac Power series, and these authors’ rising profiles, Chris Morphew, Hilary Badger and Meredith Badger are now available to speak about their work on the Zac Power series. Please contact Jennifer Kean on JenniferKean@hardiegrant.com.au to find out more about school visits and interviews around Australia and New Zealand.

Another mystery solved…

    VERY subtle.

Wait, I don’t get it. Is it because one of the authors’ surnames is Badger?

    Whoa!
My little sister reads these books. At some point I saw a school event or something where it was advertised as ‘H.I. Larry’s associate Hilary Badger’ coming to visit the kids, so I thought it was just her (um, H.I. Larry. Hilary. That took me longer to work out than I care to admit) but it is VERY cool that you’re one of the Zac Power writers.

Steph: Yeah, Hilary Badger was the original H.I. Larry, and then the rest of us came onboard as the series went along. My first Zac was Volcanic Panic, which is I think #12 or #13, and I’ve done 12 all up… which kind of makes my head spin just thinking about it.

Not all of them from 12 up. I’ve done 12 altogether, but there were other authors writing Zac books at the same time as me, and they kept going after I finished.
